We are part of the Miss America Competition, a globally recognized, iconic brand. Since 1945, the iconic Miss America Competition has awarded scholarships to its contestants, making it the largest scholarship foundation for young women in the world.

Our mission has always been to help young women reach their academic goals by helping them pay for college. By providing opportunity, access, and financial support for a quality education, we are opening the door for young women to advance.

Why do we commit to this mission every year? Encouraging young women to pursue their dreams, set goals, and work hard instills resilience and determination, serving them well throughout their lives.

We take pride in the fact that the Miss West Virginia Competition is not a winner-take-all program, as scholarships are awarded for many accomplishments, including academic excellence, community service, performance, STEM, media and communications, and spokesmanship.

Last year, we awarded over $42,000 in scholarships; this year, we are raising the bar! Our goal is $60,000. With the rising cost of tuition, our mission to help young women pay for college is more important than ever.
